Bound and Beyond Public Company Limited (“BEYOND”) continues to advance its commitment to sustainable tourism through the BEYOND Inspiring Journey 2024, marking the first year of the initiative. The program is designed to provide employees with experiential learning opportunities, fostering a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between business, the environment, and local communities, while laying the foundation for sustainable tourism development at the community level.
The initiative is built upon the concept of Experiential Learning, where employees are immersed in natural and local community settings to explore business approaches that can coexist harmoniously with the environment and create long-term value for local communities.
In 2024, Phetchaburi province was selected as the learning destination due to its strong tourism potential as a secondary city and its rich local cultural identity. This provided employees with the opportunity to experience sustainable tourism practices through real-life engagement.
The journey began with a local experience, where employees explored Phetchaburi’s culinary culture by visiting and engaging with local restaurants that source ingredients from nearby communities, reflecting the authentic identity of the area. Employees also stayed in locally owned boutique accommodations, supporting income distribution within the community and highlighting the role of tourism in strengthening the local economy.
In addition, employees gained insights into sustainable tourism development practices that balance environmental preservation with business operations. These included maintaining existing natural resources, designing spaces in harmony with the surrounding environment, and creating experiences that minimize ecological disruption—key principles of responsible tourism.
The journey concluded with an ESG workshop at “Somdul Agroforestry Home,” a learning space focused on sustainable agriculture. Employees explored concepts such as resource efficiency, living in harmony with nature, and responsible business practices that minimize environmental impact over the long term.
The BEYOND Inspiring Journey 2024 is therefore more than an employee engagement program; it represents a foundational step in building organizational awareness of sustainable tourism. The knowledge and insights gained will be further leveraged to develop sustainable guest experiences, enabling the Company to create long-term value for guests, communities, and the environment.
